Happy 13th Work Anniversay, Adele!

Image
Unlucky for some, but not for others, we would like to congratulate Adele Thomson on her 13-year service with Morclean!! Since joining our team in 2008, Adele has been an amazing addition to our company and has shown exceptional dedication to her job .  As company secretary and everything accounts, Adele has contributed greatly to the overall success of the company over almost a decade and a half.  Quick brained, and quick-witted (which helps you when dealing with all the characters within Morclean ), Adele said: "When will I get my release date? Only joking!!........ The years have flown by in what I can only explain as the whirlwind that is Morclean. It certainly is unique!! My work colleagues have become an extended family and I have always felt supported during the difficult and also good times. The humour is sometimes questionable but rarely a day goes by without someone making you laugh. There are many memorable moments such as having to zip Dave int...

Be your own boss with a high-powered industrial pressure washer

Image
If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur that's looking for a new career path, have you considered starting a pressure washing business? It’s an excellent way to say farewell to your 9 to 5 job and it doesn't cost the earth to set up either. With low startup costs low compared to other types of businesses, the profit margins can be terrific. Furthermore, the skill is relatively easy to acquire. The key steps you would need to take this type of business forward are as follows: Decide how you want to set up your business, as a sole trader or a limited company. Buy or rent your equipment – a high-powered industrial pressure washer , high-pressure and low-pressure hoses, nozzles, surface cleaners, dual lance, reels, vehicle (van or truck), soaps and chemicals, etc. Learn the skills – there are numerous tutorials on “how to pressure wash” on YouTube . Using these tutorials as a guide, you can practise your craft by borrowing a friend’s power washer or renting one for a few days, b...

The new Ecoflex semi-permanent wash pad from Morclean. Innovation in bund.

Image
Our  new   EcoFlex   semi-permanent wash pad is a cost-effective and practical way of creating a dedicated vehicle wash space for businesses that don't wish to commit to a traditional concrete wash pad. E specially if the land is leasehold,  as no excavation or groundwork needs to take place whatsoever. Genius! The  EcoFlex   wash pad is a sealed, watertight wash bay bund that is simply  rolled out onto the floor, unfolded, and fitted using fast-fix bolts. All of this takes  less than an hour and you're left with an extremely durable, chemical resistant and robust wash area that can accommodate all weights of cars, vans and HGV's, especially as the wash mat can be  supplied to meet your specifications in terms of dimensions and design. The cle aning water is captured within a 150mm kerbed bund which can either be discharged to foul or pumped to a water reclaim system.   Supplied (as standard) with a drain to one end of the p...

Successful completion of Project Langar in photo form

Image
We take pride in everything we do, and our projects are a prime example of the precision we always strive to achieve. Take, for example, our recent wash bay installation in Nottinghamshire, where we relocated some of the client's original wash bay equipment from their previous installation, alongside the preparation, excavation, and concrete pour,  Completed last week, the project entailed the i nstallation of a GRP silt trap, a pump and interceptor complete with all ducting & pipework, levelling off the existing surface, and the construction of 20m X 10m concrete bay for the wash area, and all complete with two user posts and hose reels for jet washing. Photographed from start to finish, each stage has been meticulously undertaken  and we're thrilled with the results. To dig deeper into our various wash bay solutions, contact us on 01246 471147, or at  info@morclean.com , or simply visit our  website  today .  Still undecided? Take a look...

The proof is in the pad at Zwolle

Image
If you read our recent When virtual solutions just aren't enough blog post, you would have observed some of the new solutions we have put in place for key clients owing to the ongoing pandemic. Below is the completed wash pad we sent to Zwolle in kit form. The canopy is yet to be installed, but this merrily confirms that we were successful in providing drawings and guides to enable our client to orchestrate their own wash pad build and installation. Transported to its destination in modular format, we sent out our new instruction manuals electronically outlining each step in detail with full-colour supporting images. This allowed the Zwolle team to set up the wash pad successfully, and with ease. If you'd like to know more about our transportable wash pad solutions, contact us on 01246 471147, or via email at info@morclean.com . Help Morclean finish in last place!

Image
Our MD and cleaning equipment innovator, Peter Morley, will be taking part in the 7th edition of the Slow Race challenge in Italy in September, where the winner is the one to come last! The beautiful town of Guastalla, which sits north of the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, comes to life once a year when this wonderful event takes place. With beautiful cars, such as Jaguars and Ferraris, all competing for 'last place'. Peter, who will be raising money for two disabled charities - including Anffas, an Italian association that helps with the assistance of people with disabilities -said: “Local members of the disabled community get to have a ride in the selection of cars that enter the race. I will be driving over to Italy in my own car, and all the costs of travel and expenses will be met personally by me or the business, with 100% of any monies raised given to charity.” Peter’s close friend, Ginetto Tosi, the organiser of the Slow Race , jumped at the opportunity when ...

When virtual solutions just aren't enough

Image
Many businesses faced changes and challenges due to the Covid-19 epidemic. This included travel restrictions, q uarantine, a significant number of cancelled flights and ferry crossings, staff sick or isolating, restricted access to sites, and many other reasons.   Virtual a lternatives in many firms have included Zoom, MS teams, minimised contact,  w3w to site survey , drones and 3D imaging to survey sites.  However, within a   non-virtual space .  physical items still needed to be installed such as wash pads, water treatment solutions (including our Blue Box and Biox systems). canopies and wash bays.   Business as usual!  Key Industries were still operating and we had to find ways around the restrictions, ways that can't be replaced with "virtual".  One of our biggest challenges was addressing overseas project enquiries. We  had ten European sites that needed answers and a solution, but it was impossible to attend the s...

2 Thermasteam steam cleaners soon to be delivered to largest waste management company in the UK

Image
Two of our revolutionary Thermasteam   trailer-mounted steam cleaning machines (pictured below) are scheduled to be delivered soon to o ne of the largest waste management companies in and around Cornwall. The  waste company,  which we've dealt with for many years now, provides collection, landfill, recycling and special waste services to local authorities and industrial and commercial clients in the UK.  They were looking for a 'low water volume' solution that requires no solvents, and our  Thermasteam  steam cleaner ticked all the right boxes,  With its soft washing process and low water consumption rate, the  ThermaSteam   eliminates the need for harmful chemical-laden solvents to effectively complete the task.  Just the pure power of hot steam.  It effortlessly removes resistant paint, graffiti, chewing gum, moss, bird droppings, and more,  whilst using much less water than a traditional pressure washer. While t...
