While graffiti is a statement of expression for some, for others it is an unwanted, unsightly mess. Deeply i ngrained paint is one of the toughest things to remove from walls, buildings and alleyways. Porous surfaces such as brick and stone tend to absorb solvent-based spray paints, which usually require pressure washing or sandblasting to remove the offending artwork. We all love that feeling of getting stuck in and our hands dirty with a good clean and sometimes it’s absolutely necessary, but do we ever stop and really think about all of the harmful chemicals and solvents that we’re voluntarily polluting our air and water supply with? Of course, nobody likes to see vulgar words or images largely spray painted on to buildings, bridges or statues, nor does anyone want to see it.  So, what do we do?
