Take, for example, our recent wash bay installation in Nottinghamshire, where we relocated some of the client's original wash bay equipment from their previous installation, alongside the preparation, excavation, and concrete pour,  Completed last week, the project entailed the i nstallation of a GRP silt trap, a pump and interceptor complete with all ducting & pipework, levelling off the existing surface, and the construction of 20m X 10m concrete bay for the wash area, and all complete with two user posts and hose reels for jet washing. All was quiet on the social front yesterday, as I embarked on a s ite visit to take photos  of project delivery progress at our Langar project in Nottingham. It's the first time I've seen the excavation stage of a wash bay installation up close and personal, and it was a fascinatingly valuable experience. Health and Safety First Upon approaching Morclean's cordoned-off area, which is under full ownership and control of Morclean or it's subcontractors during works, a vivid blue Morclean H&S station sat at the entrance to the site, The H&S station comes  complete with a visitor and contractor signing-in record book, HSE law poster, first aid box, fire extinguisher, and an accident book, together with a fully stocked first aid kit, As an accredited Safe Contractor, Morclean is fully dedicated to ensuring that health & safety procedures are regularly upgraded and updated in line with legislation, and our H&S Station ticks all of the regulation boxes....

Our R&D department has developed, and recently launched, the new Therma Flow hybrid hot water steam cleaner, a low-flow machine that uses just 7.5 litres per min of water. The genius of this machine, when compared to traditional equivalent jet wash that would produce between 15 and 21 litres per min, is that the  Therma Flow  uses half the water consumption and disposal, resulting in reduced water for sites where drainage is limited or water reclaim is required. If there is no foul drain, there are 2 options because wastewater/wash water must NOT enter a surface drain storm drain or soakaway. While graffiti is a statement of expression for some, for others it is an unwanted, unsightly mess. Deeply i ngrained paint is one of the toughest things to remove from walls, buildings and alleyways. Porous surfaces such as brick and stone tend to absorb solvent-based spray paints, which usually require pressure washing or sandblasting to remove the offending artwork. Paint thinners and chemicals seem like a cheap and tempting alternative to the above methods, however, they tend to spread the paint and make exacerbate the problem, whereas many narrow tipped pressure jet washers can leave a visible outline of the graffiti, and sandblasters can permanently mark the surface if the tip isn't moved over the graffiti constantly. We' re already lining up projects for Spring 2021,  and are extremely excited about our new and upcoming vehicle wash project in Denbighshire, for the washing of  refuse trucks and council vehicles. This project will involve a whole host of works, including supply, civils, installation of a water management system (silt trap, GRP plant room, advanced media filter), a cleaning system (twin hot water cabinet jet wash, user posts, hose reels), and below ground items (interceptor, silt trap, buffer tank), alongside ongoing services. Above and below are examples of a past project we undertook, which is very similar to the works that will be undertaken in North East Wales. Our  Morclean H&S Station will also be delivered to the site prior to the start of the works... Phew, what a welcome challenge to hopefully a more positive year for everyone.  Roll on 2021!  

Always looking ahead, we have another exciting new project penciled in for a mid-October start.  A builders yard in Worcester, which is currently vacated, is set to be a brand new location for a power generator firm that will be washing heavy-duty generators.  Once the site survey has been undertaken, Morclean is to saw cut and excavate for the installation of a silt trap, interceptor, and wash pad, with s ome of these elements being placed above-ground to reduce excavation. This week Morclean have completed another order for the supply to the off-shore industry. A number of specialist marine  wash units were dispatched  to Aberdeen.   The special build and high pressure jetting machines are fitted with accessories that are used below sea for deep cleaning. Morclean have supplied a quantity of these machines in the past with a further supply being manufactured right now! Morclean’s  Meridian series of jetters feature higher pressures and flow rates for heavy and industrial applications. The high pressure jet wash units can be manufactured on a steel skid frame with an electric motor to power the pump. Alternatively, the marine jetters can be produced on a trolley and wheels for extra portability with a diesel engine. The machines are built to withstand extreme conditions and are robustly built with extra heavy-duty pumps.
