R&D Project Innovation for Plant Wash Water Recovery 💡

Image
We were recently approached by a client who was looking for a viable solution for cleaning and re-using water, for washing plant hire that has been returned from hire. Our MD, Peter Morley, got his R&D cap on and set about inventing a new wash water recovery system. We’ve now designed, prototyped, manufactured, and tested the new wash pad, which is the same as our regular wash pad, but smaller and deeper at 3x2m or 3x3m (L x W) and a depth of 180mm. The new system catches and collects the water on the wash pad. The water is then pumped from the pad to the reclaim system. Water enters the system and is pushed through a bag filter to remove debris and oils, and then on through a mesh filter to remove finer silt. The systems downpipes guarantee that oil remains free-floating, and any remaining oil is trapped in the absorbent pads. Lastly, a cartridge filter ensures that any free-floating solids are removed. The water is then pumped into the jet wash with a level control. The techn...

It's not just a drain: Water Filtration

Image
#ItsNotJustADrain: Water Filtration As most of you will know, those who create waste water in a business, like car washing, have a responsibility to collect and dispose of said water. It is unlawful to discharge chemical laced and contaminated vehicle wash water down surface drains and you can be faced with a hefty charge if you are caught. Remember, " it's not just a drain " these surface drains actually carry, essentially harmless, rain water to rivers and soakaways, so if contaminated water were to go through these drains, it is potentially harmful to our ecosystems.  It can also cause harm to animals that drink from such polluted water.  Contaminated wash water must outflow to a mains foul drain and usually via an interceptor. If there is no foul drain or easy access to a foul drain, then t he car wash operator would have to either: Move off site and find a new location Contain and store the water and take it all off site   Fully recycle the water....

PRESS RELEASE... Going for Gold and Winning with Silver

Image
Article Composed by Clare Gaffoor - Morclean Marketing Assistant Significant new and innovative development of a unique filtration system for the range of Morclean bin wash machines From 1st July  2016  all mainstream  Morclean bin wash models, including the best-selling bin wash ‘Custom Plus’  (as seen at the new Manchester Cleaning Show) will now have  5 stages of filtration. Most bin wash machines on the market today (previously including Morclean models) have 3 basic stages of filtration which are based on a micron level of fine mesh using industry standard gauze type filters.     The water is filtered sufficiently to be perfectly good enough to be re-used on the bins throughout the day, but the water isn’t particularly clean, given that the operators are washing out contaminated waste bins. If a finer micron filter is used, they tend to ‘blind’ (which basically means block) and so filters with large enough holes tend to be...
