Help Morclean finish in last place!

Image
Our MD and cleaning equipment innovator, Peter Morley, will be taking part in the 7th edition of the Slow Race challenge in Italy in September, where the winner is the one to come last! The beautiful town of Guastalla, which sits north of the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, comes to life once a year when this wonderful event takes place. With beautiful cars, such as Jaguars and Ferraris, all competing for 'last place'. Peter, who will be raising money for two disabled charities - including Anffas, an Italian association that helps with the assistance of people with disabilities -said: “Local members of the disabled community get to have a ride in the selection of cars that enter the race. I will be driving over to Italy in my own car, and all the costs of travel and expenses will be met personally by me or the business, with 100% of any monies raised given to charity.” Peter’s close friend, Ginetto Tosi, the organiser of the Slow Race , jumped at the opportunity when ...

Ebola Virus and The Worlds Hygiene...

Image
Unless you've been hiding your head in the sand for the last few weeks, you'll have heard of the 'pandemic' Ebola virus which is sweeping not only West Africa, but is now feared to have spread even further. Much like the Swine Flu and Bird Flu Viruses, and other viruses or 'superbugs' faced by the NHS, it causes a national panic fed by the media who claim that 'this is the end.' In the 21st Century, after discovering prevention's and cures for many deadly illnesses such as smallpox, malaria, TB and even mild infections which would have killed people hundreds of years ago, we hold our hope on a 'cure' for this dreadful infection. But as the old saying goes... prevention is cheaper (and easier) than the cure. It seems many of the scientists and medical professionals are a little baffled about this latest outbreak. They know the most likely cause of the spread was through infected bush meat (bats and monkeys), but the way it spreads from h...

Not Quite As Old As The British Museum...

Image
As usual Google has educated and enlightened us this morning with it's daily news themed icon and this morning it tells us that the British Museum is 255 years old!  Although we're not quite as old as the British Museum, Morclean started life in the 1970's making us pretty much as old as the Fiat 500... now that IS cool! As well as being as old as the Fiat 500, Morclean also shares a lot of similarities with this traditionally Italian-British adopted invention. We too move with the times, update our image and listen to what people want which is why we are still around doing what we do.  (A little like how we drive round the streets of Italy) We share a lot of links with Italy and visit regularly for business purposes. Our translator, Gino, usually shows us around in his little 500, rallying around the streets of Italy showing us all the hidden gems tucked away in the little back alleys of the city. It reminds us of something off Top Gear - like when Jeremy ...

Matlock Rugby Club Tour Italy

Image
Italy Tour 2012 Morclean are proud to sponsor the Matlock Rugby Club! We had a small catch up upon their return to the UK. Forty members of Matlock Rugby Club went on a four day stay in Lido di Jesolo, just outside of Venice. They had a long and arduous coach ride to Gatwick Airport to fly to Venice for some Rugby action.  They actually played two matches against local opposition. The first they travelled to by boat, (see below!) to win Lido di Venexia RC 21-27. The second match was also triumphant, verus  RC Silea,  with a  comfortable win of 7-62. Well done boys! The reason for the tour was that it was actually a lengthy 6 years since the previous tour, when the team went to Majorca. It's a end-of-season tradition that the team want to bring back to full force! The tour really brought the team together, and as you can see from the pictures, there's more that a little camaraderie! The Final night of the tour sa...
