In a few weeks time, get ready for the spectacular Matlock Festival! It is a four day event absolutely PACKED with fun things to keep everyone entertained! 

It all starts on Thursday Evening, with comedy and music at a couple of venues in Matlock Centre. On Friday evening there are two free events at bars in Matlock, an acoustic night at TewntyTen and a range of local talent playing at the Black Hippo. You could pop in to them both as they are completely free of charge! 

Saturday the 20th is when the daytime activities begin, and there is much to see and do in the gloriously picturesque Hall Leys Park. There will be a climbing wall, children's rides, storytelling, demonstrations of Rock crawling by Xtreme, and a Jazz Trio to produce a lovely ambience as you stroll round the park. All the family will enjoy the day.

Then Saturday night will be another memorable event, with a choice of excellent activities - firstly there the Mini Music festival from 3pm onwards at the Black Hippo, which is free entry and going on till late. It would be criminal not to pop in and see some amazing music! There's the comedy night at Escape Comedy Club showcasing a host of comedians, entry just £12, doors at 7pm. Witness some incredible talent at the Loft from 6.30, and also there's the Yeah Ducks performing at TwentyTen from 9pm. Phew, spoilt for choice!

Sunday is the day for the HUGE Food in the Park festival! The range of food available is vast and varied - from wood fired pizza, to zebra burgers - from chocolate to cheese! Not to mention an ale stand here and there as well! So go get stuck in to the treats available! 

The climax of the weekend will be the Sneaky Peeky CABARET that is taking place at The Loft. The Loft is an exciting BRAND new venue, adding to the number of fantastic places in Matlock! Featuring Burlesque acts, comedy and music , this is sure to be an unmissable event! Do something different, and throw out the 'no going out on a Sunday' rule!
