We're Still on Track... Morclean Celebrates Project Progress
Morclean’s vehicle wash bay projects are a fundamental part of the business. Since the turn of the new century - from concept and design, right through to civils and installation - our team has delivered countless successful turnkey projects throughout the UK and beyond with a gritty determination and focus to deliver on time, and on budget.
From Morclean's early beginnings as a supplier of mobile hot water jet wash machines, we eventually added hot static/fixed hot water machines to our portfolio in the late 80’s.
In the early '90s, we began supplying fuel tanks and accessories - such as hose reels, user posts, remote controls, etc. - with the machine.
We continued to evolve, supplying housing/GRP, gantries, silt traps, interceptors, and water reclaim systems. Then, in the early 2000s, Morclean did one of its early civils projects, where the team installed silt traps, interceptors, and a wash bay. We were hooked!
Gradually increasing our workload year-on-year, we now offer full turnkey projects - from design, manufacture, supply, and install right through to handover. This includes all the health and safety side of things, alongside acting as main/principal contractor on numerous occasions.
With a plethora of projects completed throughout 2019. here’s a handful of our more recent ventures to provide a flavour of our capabilities:
At the start of 2020, the Morclean installation team was already busy preparing yet another site, this time at Newcastle's Port of Tyne where they excavated for the supply of new silt traps, interceptors, and a pumping station. Reinstating with a new 100M2 concreted wash pad, jet wash, side screens, curbs, and cladding to form a new contained and secure facility for the washing of heavy-
duty plant, machines, excavators, and 360's.
The same crisis that inflicted the whole nation also restricted our ability to continue projects in the same vein, meaning that scheduled work was put on hold. However, we remained partly operational, adhering to strict government guidelines, and continued to sell a wide range of cleaning machines at a time when people needed them more than ever.
Since September, we have continued with our projects, starting in Swansea, where a 100M2 wash bay with 4CuM3 with below ground tanks and water treatment was completed on time and on budget. In October in Hale, Cheshire, civil work was undertaken, including the laying of slab and pouring of concrete for the installation of a wash bay. The installation of wash screens, along with the supply and installation of a silt trap and interceptor to collect larger debris and control silt deposits ensued in Clay Cross in Derbyshire in November, alongside the fitting of screens and a wash pad in Norwich. Surface-mounted wash pads were installed at Manchester and Hull in December. And a wash bay and screen installation even took place over the Christmas holidays in Mansfield.
The start of the New Year sees our project team in Worcester, clearing, excavating, and preparing the groundworks for a new circa 150M2 wash bay with silt trap and interceptor, with many more projects penciled in for the following months...
Needless to say, at Morclean, work is never dull...
Tiring? No! Inspiring? Yes!
