Morclean are proud to be sponsoring a huge Three Peaks effort coming up this Summer!

A team of 11 parents from Lea, Matlock will be taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge in just 24 hours over Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June 2025 to raise funds for the Friends Of Lea School (FOLs) to support curriculum enrichment activities in their local school, Lea Primary.

The challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, with travel between each location within 24 hours. They will start with Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain standing at 1345m (4,413 ft). Next stop is Scafell Pike in the Lake District at 978.4 m (3,210 ft) and finally, with tired legs and sore bodies they will move to the final ascent of the challenge to stand at 1,085 m (3,560 ft) at the summit of Snowdon in Wales.

Their target is to raise over £3500 for the school. The funds will be used for resources and equipment and to ensure that activities such as school trips are accessible for all.

It’s a total walking distance of 23 miles (37km), with a total ascent of 3,064 metres (10,052 ft) and total driving distance of 462 miles.

How to donate and show support to this amazing feat will be coming soon!

The Three Peaks Challenge is very strenuous, walking up very steep hills and uneven terrain for long periods of time, often with the extra weight of all supplies on their back! Not to mention the sleep deprivation of doing all three peaks within 24 hours! It's a very hardy challenge and Morclean will champion the team all the way up each mountain! Good luck gang!
