10 Years On: Celebrating the 2013 Malaga Tour with Matlock RUFC and Tupton RUFC Combined Vets 2023

The match took place on the 15th of July, marking the 10th anniversary of the unforgettable 2013 tour in the same location. The field was set at La Caleta, situated in the eastern part of the city, and the heat was intense, with temperatures soaring to 30 degrees under the blazing sun.

Both teams were a mix of youth and experience, with players ranging from 21 to late 50s. As the game began, it was apparent that the sandy, dusty, and rock-hard pitch would not make things easy for either team. The tension was palpable as the players battled it out on the field in a fierce and challenging match.

Despite the tough conditions, MRUFC and TRUFC managed to emerge victorious in the end, although determining the precise score proved to be a challenge... Following the game, presentations were made to Club Deportivo Axarquia Rugby, the man of the match, and a retiring club official, amidst thunderous cheers and applause.

The entire event was proudly sponsored by Morclean, and in attendance were Peter Morley, the MD of the company, and Harry Morley, the production manager, who played a vital role in the success of the day, taking the field in the position of number 11.
