The Importance of Clinical Waste Hygiene

These days we’re highly aware of the importance of hygiene in hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the world, and this has never been more apparent since the current outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

Bagnalls (2019) recently declared that “Hospitals and other healthcare centres contain those who are most vulnerable to disease as well as high concentrations of patients with infectious conditions. Therefore, it is essential that no corners are cut when it comes to hygiene - if procedures are not carried out properly, it could have catastrophic effects on patients in vulnerable states.”

Clinical waste has to be split into four categories - infectious, sharp, anatomical and redundant medical waste - all of which have the potential to carry infectious microorganisms and transfer diseases, meaning that the safe disposal of medical waste is fundamental.

Morclean’s new Binwash AUTO has been developed to ensure that clinical waste bins are sanitised thoroughly and effectively, and in a controlled environment. So that there is no possibility of cross-contamination or infection, especially where the overspray of contaminated water is a risk.

Comprising a contained housing unit, a secondary anti-splash area and an enclosed catchment area for any residual water, the revolutionary system automatically cleans any size of EU wheelie bin with automated bi-directional cleaning heads, meaning that no manual cleaning is required. Whilst the machines unique hydraulic lift and lower mechanism ensures that no manual handling is needed either. Wheeled bins of any size can be washed automatically while the water is entirely contained within the device.

There is no more critical time than now to protect the direct environment from potentially hazardous clinical waste. For more information on this incredible machine, visit https://bit.ly/3avOnJY today.
